I was saved as a child and attended a Baptist church for a few years with my sister. My mom is a Buddhist and my Dad is an atheist and also anti-Christianity. My siblings attended mission schools and we became the very first Christians among our relatives. Despite abandoning God for so long, both my sister and I knew very deeply we would return to our faith someday. I believe God brought me to Melbourne to find my way back to him. My journey in Melbourne as a skilled migrant had been very difficult... there were so many tears, heartaches, disappointments, and hurt.
I was retrenched from my job and unemployed for nine month... In the midst of that time, I listened to many e-sermons of pastors, and one of them was Mark Conner... I have started attending Knox and recently I heard God speaking to me about baptism, so I am finally taking the step to declare my faith publicly as a beloved child of God. My wilderness journey of 20 years taught me a lot in retrospect... One of the most important things I learned through many difficult ways is obedience in our walk with Christ. When we try to lead our own life without God and put him last instead of first, we go through many pain and sufferings and make many detours in life.
It took me a long time to finally understand... our Heavenly Father is always there to welcome us back with open arms no matter how long we had been away or how many mistakes we made in life. He is a loving father and Jesus is the only healer who can nurse and heal all our pains, hurt and heartaches.
