Board of Elders
The role of the Board of Elders is to be the primary governance group of the church, responsible for providing spiritual oversight and ensuring the ongoing health and growth of the church and its ministries. While the day-to-day running of the church is handled by the Senior Minister, the Senior Leadership Team
, and the staff, the Board of Elders hold the Senior Minister accountable and give attention to the overall vision, direction and health of the church. For a full description of the duties of the Board of Elders please click here
Peter Sheahan (Chair)
Peter Sheahan served as an elder from 1987 – 2006 and as the Chair of the previous CityLife Board of Directors until our change in governance structure in 2006. Peter was re-elected as an elder in 2016 and has appointed by the Board of Elders to the role of Chair annually since then. Peter is the Principal of Waverley Christian College, a position he has held since 1985. He has been actively involved in a wide variety of ministries within CityLife over the last 34 years. Peter is married to Mardi and they have three adult children.
Andrew Hill (Senior Minister)
Andrew became the Senior Minister of CityLife Church in 2017. As the Senior Minister he is responsible for all aspects of the church vision, including leadership, preaching and teaching, and external relationships. Andrew has a wealth of experience across a vast range of church ministries in large church environments.
Andrew has a Bachelor of Ministry, Graduate Diploma of Theology and a Master of Arts in Church Practise. Andrew is married to Leanne and together they have three young adult children Emily, Stephanie and Joshua.
Andrea has been an elder since 2011. Andrea became a partner of CityLife Church in 2003. She has a Law Degree (Hons) from The University of London and has worked in the legal and corporate governance area for over 13 years. She has served on the worship team and in CityLife Kids. Andrea is married to Ben and they have two primary school aged children.
Marg joined CityLife Church in 2014 and serves in the areas of Life Group leadership; teaching and preaching. She has a Bachelor of Arts; Diploma of Education; and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Ministry. Her background is in education and ministry, having worked in schools, higher education environments, and for many years pastoring in a local church. Marg established and was CEO of a Registered Training Organisation, which offered business and theology qualifications, combining her twin passions for training and pastoral ministry. Marg is also passionate about social justice and recently moved into a managerial role with Samaritan’s Purse Australia, assisting with aid relief and child poverty in the Asia Pacific region. Marg is married to Jim and they have three young adult children.
Liz became a partner of CityLife Church in 2007. She serves in a number of ministry areas including Life Group leadership and coaching. She holds a degree in electrical and electronics engineering (Hons) and is currently working in a management role in the telecommunications IT industry. Liz is married to Cheno and they have two children.
Mark has been a partner of CityLife Church since 1989 and, after returning from three years interstate, renewed his partnership in 2000. He serves in the Creative Ministries team as vocalist and musician and has served as a Council member of WCC since 2005. Mark has Engineering (Mech.) degree and an MBA. He has worked in the capital equipment industry for 28 years and held the role of Business Manager for CityLife Church for seven years from 2007 to 2014. Mark is married to Tina and they have three young adult children.
Michael has been an elder since 2011. Michael became a partner of CityLife Church in 2007 and serves in a number of ministry areas including Life Group leadership and coaching. He is a retired chartered engineer, ministers regularly in South East Asia and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary. Michael is married to Gwen and together they have two adult children.
Peter has been a part of CityLife for over 40 years and has served in many areas of the church. He currently plays cello in the band, serves as a team leader in the Kids ministry and volunteers at Southern Cross Kids' Camps. Peter has degrees in veterinary science and psychology and runs his own veterinary practice. He is married to Liz and they have three children, Joshua, Benjamin and Gabrielle.
Peter is currently the Executive Minister and is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the church, managing the Senior Leadership Team and aligning the activities of our ministries with our vision. He has been a staff member since 1993 and a partner since 1982. He is married to Linda and they have three young adult children.
