Over the past three years my husband has gone through a wilderness experience in the area of employment; we had a long period of searching and seeking and asking God for direction and for him to open the right door. It seemed that despite applying for jobs, no doors would open. In 2012 my husband decided to take on some part-time Bible studies and enrolled in School of Ministry. This was a great experience for him, but in terms of employment, he had no clarity or direction. He continued with part time studies in 2013/14.
At the beginning of this year we decided to seek God over the situation with greater intensity. We undertook a dedicated 21 days of prayer and fasting. We were amazed how much God spoke to us, encouraged us and built up our faith over that time. It was also a time when God was dealing with negative emotions of regret, disappointment, worry and confusion and replacing them with faith, hope and trust.
Shortly after the fast my husband contacted several employers. As a result, he was able to secure an interview with a business that he strongly desired to work for. At the end of the interview he was offered the role and accepted it. We were so blown away that God had answered our prayers! Not only did God provide a job, but he opened the door into an industry which my husband has always desired to work in.
