At times, life can get tough. After losing by wife very suddenly 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's shortly after, and earlier this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It would be easy to become totally overwhelmed but with God in my life, I have known the calming love of God and experienced Shalom peace. This came just at the time when the Saturday night message at Knox was about Jesus commanding the storm to be calm. This was one of those moments when the message touched my heart, and the worship song on that night has been a huge comfort to be point where I was singing it for weeks leading up to, and right up unto being put under for surgery, “And through it all, through it all, my eyes are on You. And through it all, through it all, it is well. And through it all, through it all My eyes are on You. And it is well, with me”.
For me, the sense of Shalom peace meant that there was nothing I could do but to trust in God and let his will have his way. Through all these things that have come against me in the last few years, my faith is stronger, and "It Is Well".
