I grew up in a Christian family and went to a Catholic school. I've always known about Jesus, I've always prayed, and made an effort to go to church frequently, but never really took the time to really know him for myself and build a relationship with Him for myself, especially towards my teenage years. In these past few years, I feel as though little seeds have been planted in my life to encourage me to know the Lord and build a relationship with Him. Little things like someone posting a worship song on their story, or someone at uni inviting me to join a Bible study group. During the pandemic, I found myself wanting to read the Bible and wanting to prioritise my quiet times with the Lord. Not because someone told me to, but because it was something that I genuinely wanted to do for myself.
Last year especially was a big year for me in terms of my faith; I started going to church more, making Christian friends and participating more in church activities. YA camp last year was a game changer, where I surrendered everything that I was struggling with to the Lord and was set free. I am taking this next step to be baptised now that I've come to truly know Jesus for myself and have seen and acknowledged everything that He has done in my life, and in the lives of others around me.
