We were contacted by a client in a panic as she hadn’t been able to raise all the necessary funds to release her car after it was impounded. The lady had two young children and had been without a car for 6 weeks. She had exhausted all options for raising the funds herself, which included selling personal property. She had raised over $900 but was just under $300 short. She contacted CLCC desperate for help as her car was scheduled to be crushed if she didn’t collect it the following day. After a mammoth effort by the client to get all the necessary documentation through to us that afternoon, we were able to expedite the approval of a financial application and provide her with assistance to have her car released the next day. She was so thankful for the help she received.
A young mum who had left a domestic violence relationship was struggling to make ends meet. She was behind in her rent, at risk of having her utilities disconnected and unable to buy food for her family. Through the assistance of CLCC, we were able to connect her to the energy mentor who worked to get the utilities into her own name. CLCC was able to provide food support, some vouchers and connect her to our counselling services. We also provided her with information about where to access assistance for rental arrears. She is making great progress in turning her life around.
