At the last ‘Encounter Weekend’ (in February) two of our Life Groups members received the gift of tongues simply because they wanted to receive it and braved the walk to the front to be prayed over. One lady came to the front on the Saturday night and she was prayed for. At first she was still praying in Indonesian. The leader then moved on to pray for the next person. Our Life Group member said at that moment she suddenly could not pray in Indonesian anymore but instead prayed in tongues. She was instantly filled with joy and the love of the Lord. A momentous timing for her as she has been suffering from depression for some months before this. She grew up in a Cessasionist background. When she heard Lynn preach on the weekend, she responded out of a real desire to receive the Holy Spirit and really had nothing to lose.
A 13 year-old boy came to the front on the Sunday morning. As he was being prayed for, he felt cold at first and suddenly a warmness filled him all over and he started to weep. He prayed quietly and realised then that he was praying in tongues. He is so grateful for this experience. This young man has many good and awesome days to come before him. What a great testimony!
