Back in 2019, we organised a BBQ for our neighbours to meet each other. We tried to organise a second gathering in 2020 but were unable to do so due to first lockdown. We dropped a note in everyone's mail box with the idea of starting a WhatsApp group so we can ensure everyone is ok. The WhatsApp group resulted in an elderly couple having enough toilet paper and other staples during the lockdown. One cold Sunday, we had a phone call from an elderly neighbour, their heater had stopped working and she had tried to stay warm by lying on the bed with the electric blanket on. Within 15 mins, through the group, I had 3 heaters in her place. For this neighbour she was able to see the hands of Jesus at work. The group continues and is offering a lot of support to each other. As things open up we will come back together with a BBQ and continue to reach out into our local community, increasing support and showing the love of Jesus.
