A lady was referred to the COACH program at
CityLife Community Care (CLCC)
a few months ago. After many years of being abused by her husband, she decided to leave. She lost all her confidence in who she was. She felt very isolated and didn’t have any family members nearby her to support her. She was extremely fearful of losing her children to her estranged husband and of being left with nothing. Due to the restrictions, her schedule and delays in getting the mentor ready, she was not matched with a mentor for several months. CLCC staff however, checked in on her regularly. She was feeling very anxious and overwhelmed by the upcoming court hearing. She was afraid that the court wouldn’t be on her side and she would lose everything. A CLCC staff member phoned to comforted her, knowing in their heart that at times, life can be unfair and turn very nasty. Before she hanging up, they told her that she would be in their thoughts and prayers. The prayer request was sent to the intercessors. The staff member called her again after the hearing. She sounded happy! She said that she was granted full custody of the children and that the financial settlement was fair. As a result, she can now plan for her and her children’s future and is excited about starting a new life. God always cares for the disadvantaged and answers our prayers!
