Chatting with our electricians today, I asked them how their business is going. They said it’s been very tough with the lockdowns and only have 2 week’s work in advance at any one time. I said our church has a project to support and encourage local businesses. I appreciated all the work they had done and would give them a good online review. One of the electricians asked if it was a Christian church as his mum had been a very committed member of a Methodist church and cleaned it every week. He continued by saying he wasn’t religious or particularly good. I replied that Christians weren’t any better than anyone else but just sinners who were saved by grace. His eyes lit up and he repeated it back to me... sinners saved by grace. It was like a lightbulb moment when he realised that he wasn’t excluded from God’s grace.
