I have always wanted to invite the entire street (I live in a court) over for coffee and morning tea but our family circumstances prevented me from fulfilling this desire for many years. Finally, last year just before Easter, we did. We set up our coffee machine outside and some food on the table. 9 out of 12 families came (none are Christians) and it was nice to see everyone catching up and getting to know the newer neighbours. I set up an Easter Egg hunt for the kids and that helped the kids warm up to each other and played together after. One lady in particular was interested in church and asked me about CityLife. I invited her to our Easter production which she came with her son. She was going through some tough time so I spend some time listening to her and had the opportunity to share the gospel with her. She wasn’t ready but the seed has been planted. We have continued our friendship and kept in touch on and off. My family have been praying for her and her family. Recently, she contacted me again to say she would like to join church. I guided her to online church and kids online/kids zoom for her son. Her son enjoyed it. I know this is only the beginning of her journey to find and encounter God. I pray that she will find God’s grace and His salvation gift through church, our friendship and whoever God brings her way. Such a privilege to join God at work and to walk this journey with her.
