During this COVID-19 times, the use of social media has become a new medium for many people to seek help. In early April, one of our Life Group members, responded to a message on the NextDoor app asking for help to discard a sofa. The next day, he met a lady who was living in public housing. She was a former optometrist, who was recovering from several stints in the hospital with various conditions. He also blessed her with some groceries.
A few weeks later whilst discarding a filing cabinet, he had an idea to turn the filing cabinet into a neat and practical garden bed for her, so that she could grow her own vegetables and be more self-sustaining. And so he did! Now she’s growing green vegetables to eat and is keen to get some more to extend her garden.
As a Life Group, we are praying for opportunities to reach out to her and others in community who we can bless perhaps with the upcycled filing cabinet garden beds!
