Openly Discuss About God

I had never heard of the
Alpha
program before and just went along with an open heart and mind, to see what it was all about. I was welcomed by warm and friendly people, who generally just had a joy and positivity about them that was very inviting. For a person who considers herself an “infant in Christ”, I found it refreshing and meaningful to be able to openly discuss God and many aspects of Christianity, in an honest and safe environment. There was no pressure to contribute to the conversation if one just wanted to absorb what was being discussed. There was an emphasis on every individual being on their own journey in relationship with our Lord, and at their own pace. There was no judgement, questions were welcomed and there was always a general feeling of support, encouragement and acceptance. It was especially inspiring for me to hear other people’s testimonies about how God has been working in their lives, and to reflect on sometimes challenging concepts about faith and the practice of Christianity. Best of all, we got to make new friends in the process and share deliciously cooked meals together every week.
