I had an annoying backache and I took two codeine tablets in an attempt to lessen the pain, but unfortunately on an empty stomach. I started to feel light headed and dizzy so decided to go downstairs and rest, but when I reached the stairs, I had a sudden black out and fell twelve steps, causing me to lose consciousness. I had a vision of myself in a bubble during the fall. I could hear my step daughter on the phone to the ambulance call centre telling them about my condition. I vomited and regained consciousness. When the ambulance arrived, they attempted to place me on the stretcher but this was thwarted as there were too many stairs, but I told them not to worry, I can walk. They were against this but as they were unable to get the stretcher, they agreed for me to walk to the ambulance, constantly checking if I was in pain and there was none.
At the hospital, the doctor did some tests, asked me to move my legs, hands and my neck etc and I also had scans done to check for any broken or cracked bones. The scans came back showing no damage to any part of my body. The doctor was so surprised as I had fallen a considerable distance and said at my age there should have been some sustainable injuries but thanks be to God and Him alone that I am well. God was there and His hand held me, keeping me from injury, He protected me all the way. All glory and thanks be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
