Last Sunday, my 12 year old, who plays competitive tennis in grade D3, was told that her away matches that day were a wash out while we were still 5 minutes away from the venue. Half way home, I received a call from her coach asking if she can fill in for a team playing at home that was short of a member.
She asked what grade was the team and was told it's a similar grade so I brought her to her home club and lo and behold the team she was filling in for was grade C1, three grades above her regular grade!
My daughter was understandably a bit upset and intimated but I told her the fact that she was there meant the C1 team would not automatically lose and get zero points, so any point she can score for the team is a bonus.
I also reminded her that
David defeated Goliath
and that it's not by her might but by the Spirit, so she calmed down and said she would play and would ask the Holy Spirit to help her before every single shot.
I don't normally stay while she competes, but that day, I decided to stay and support her in prayer. So while she played, I prayed in tongues outside the court.
Our God is truly a prayer answering God as despite being in a much lower grade, she managed to win her Singles match 6-4, one of the two Doubles matches 6-3, and the only Doubles match that she lost had a very dignified score of 3-6!
Praise the Lord and all honour and glory be to Him!
