My neighbour has been our friend ever since we got married and moved to our home across the road from him 37 years ago. He is now a widower and 80 years old. He was diagnosed with a tumour in his neck which was very difficult to remove, needing to have his lymph nodes removed also. He had to have weeks of radiotherapy treatment and used to wait outside for the transit van to come and pick him up. One day as I saw him there I went to speak to him to see how he was getting on with things. I asked him if he believed in God. He said, "I don't know."
I asked if I could pray for him and he said I could. I prayed for God to be with him when his wife of many years could not be there now and to be his strength for what was ahead.
I spoke healing into his body in the name of Jesus. Afterwards he cuddled me and was crying. Many weeks went by and he lost weight and was unable to eat and was refined to the house after the treatment had finished.
Today I saw him checking his mail and I was pleased to see that he had gained weight and he told me he was no longer being fed by a tube.
He cuddled me, smiled and said, "perhaps the prayer worked." I said, "amen" and I praised my God for the seed that was planted and will continue to grow in him.
