I just want to praise God for using me to speak in to someone's life. This is my story........ My friend grew up in a hostile family home. At the age of 12 she was so violently abused that she was hospitalised. After this, she became very bitter and always declared herself an atheist. I first met her when she was 21 years old and for the next 30 years spoke to her little by little about Jesus. She is a very intelligent person who has degrees in politics, teaching, and economics, so she enjoyed debating me on this issue.
Over the years we have talked for hours on the phone and at times she would ring me three times a day. Sometimes I would get frustrated at her constant ringing but felt God saying to me to continue being there for her. Little by little she began to let me share more, explain the scriptures, and pray for her over the phone. She tried many churches and I would be there for her when she got hurt or offended, giving her the scriptures God would bring to my remembrance to encourage her with and support her.
Today, she is enrolled in university and has almost completed her Diploma of Theology and loves God so much. She is also going to write a book and God has given her the gift of writing Christian poems which can enrich the lives of others. So whenever you get frustrated that someone isn't receiving what you are sharing with them, stay with it and go that little extra bit, because you don't know what God is doing on the inside. I hope this will encourage others.
