One of our Life Group leaders, on her 37th birthday,
was contemplating the goodness and faithfulness of God. As she counted her
blessings she decided she wanted to give back. So ... she decided to embark on a journey
to execute 37 random acts of kindness. Why? In some small measure to thank God
for his incredible goodness in her life, and to perhaps change someone’s
‘story’ (even just their day). She completed them all.
Here are some of the things she did: dropping off fresh donuts at a police station (they loved it), taking 25 teddy bears
with special loving messages attached to kids in a children’s ward (they loved
it), leaving one of her favourite devotionals with a loving note on a park bench
(she prayed for the ‘right’ person to find it), taping $2 coins to vending
machines for kiddie rides (she stood back and watched – some good responses), handed out chocolates and notes of thanks and encouragement, gave a voucher and thank-you card
to the guy who collects the trolleys at her local shopping centre, just to name a few. Her children helped too, loved the experience and learned some important
lessons. What an inspiration.
