A story from CityLife Casey:
At the end of 2025, a man in his late 30s gave his life to Jesus during a CityLife Casey service. As his relationship with Jesus began to grow, he started praying for his 19-year-old son to come to know Jesus too.
Over the following months, through ongoing invitations and conversations about faith, his son began attending CityLife Casey services with him from time to time. This led to both father and son completing Alpha together, exploring the Christian faith and asking questions. They also attended various weekend services at Casey and the Outreach events in Mornington, which had been promoted during the Casey services.
On 25 October 2026, they attended the launch of our first CityLife Mornington service. During the response time at the end of the message, the young man prayed, “If you are real, show yourself to me this week.”
The very next day, while travelling on the train, he was talking with a friend about the church service, Alpha and mentioned CityLife Church. Unbeknown to him, a CityLife partner named Noel was on the same train, in the same carriage and overheard their conversation. Noel approached them and asked if he could join their conversations. Over the rest of the train ride, Noel was able to explore Pentecost in Acts and the significance of Holy Spirit as well as answer several of the young man’s questions about Jesus.
Later that evening, the young man shared the experience with his dad at home, explaining that he had asked God to reveal Himself that week and that the conversation with Noel felt like such a clear answer to his prayer.
His father was able to lead him in a salvation prayer, and his 19-year-old son gave his life to Jesus!
