I am 9 years years old and recently travelled with my mum and few other families from Life Group to Cambodia. The 10 day trip opened my eyes, and I learnt what a mission trip was actually like, it wasn’t just going to a country to help people, it was more than that - it’s a journey with a goal - a goal to tell people God’s Good News.
We served in the kids ministry in different churches, the leader K.K. taught us how to serve and play games with the kids, I even had an opportunity to play Ukulele during worship which I learned on the bus. I enjoyed the food and drinks in Cambodia, and also the hotel were surprisingly good! The best moments I really enjoyed was the time when everyone sat together during dinner time after a long day travel and served. Good to be together.
After the trip my point of view had changed:
Before - “The mission trip is a trip where I go to tell people about stuff.”
After - “This is a very interesting subject, there’s a lot of people who don’t even know about the bible!”
As a kid, I would say that you have to at least go on a mission trip once in your whole life and I would love to go back to mission trip if can.
