Daniel is from Online Church and living in Singapore, he has a daughter in Year 12 here in Melbourne. She lives with her grandparents near Malvern, quite a long way from Epic Youth, and for more than a year Daniel has been praying that she would somehow come along.
I had tried to reach out to her a few times, but she just wasn’t interested. Nothing seemed to be getting her over the line.
Then, unexpectedly, one of her friends started dating someone who goes to Epic Youth. Her friend said, “Hey, I need someone to come with me to my boyfriend’s youth group.” So Daniel’s daughter agreed to come along.
And now she keeps coming.
Even though she lives far away and it takes real effort for her to get there, she is now part of Epic Youth. After more than a year of prayer, the thing that finally opened the door was not a formal invitation or a carefully planned strategy, but a friend needing someone to come with her.
Some people might call that chance, but we would call it God.
It is such a beautiful reminder that God is always working, often in ways we could never have planned ourselves. How exciting to see prayer answered and a young person finding her place in community.
