From Bullying to Restoration

Winnie never imagined her workplace would become the battleground where she would encounter the living God. She came to Australia quietly, with limited English and a simple desire: to work faithfully, provide for her family, and live in peace. But peace was the very thing stolen from her.

A colleague began to bully her — harsh words, unfair treatment, subtle intimidation. For someone already struggling with language, every insult cut deeper. Winnie felt trapped. She feared speaking up, terrified that she might lose the job she depended on. So she endured the mistreatment in silence, hoping it would pass.

But silence has a way of sinking into the body.

The stress grew heavier.

Her nights became sleepless.

Her mind raced.

Her heart tightened.

Eventually, the pressure broke through physically. Winnie became unwell — exhausted, anxious, unable to rest. A GP had to prescribe medication just so she could sleep. What began as emotional pain had become a physical burden she could no longer carry alone.

During this dark season, our community gathered around her. We prayed with her, prayed for her, and prayed over her. Even when she felt weak, God was strengthening her spirit. Even when she felt unseen, God was watching closely. Even when she felt voiceless, God was preparing to speak on her behalf.

Months passed.

Nothing seemed to change.

But heaven was not silent.

One morning, Winnie was unexpectedly called into the office. Her heart pounded. She feared the worst — that she would be dismissed, that her silence had failed her, that she was about to lose everything she had worked for.

But God had already gone ahead of her.

Instead of being laid off, Winnie was told that the colleague who had bullied her was being terminated. The truth had surfaced. The injustice she endured had been seen. And God Himself had acted on her behalf.

In that moment, Winnie encountered God in a way she had never known before — not just as Saviour, but as Defender. Not just as Comforter, but as Judge who brings justice for the oppressed. The God who sees. The God who hears. The God who fights for those who cannot fight for themselves.

Her fear melted into relief.

Her sorrow turned into joy.

Her workplace, once a place of dread, became a place of peace.

Today, Winnie works joyfully in the same job.

She sleeps well.

Her health is restored.

Her spirit is light again.

And every day, she praises the Lord who heard her cry, who fought for her, and who restored her dignity.

Her testimony is simple, but it carries the weight of heaven:

“I learned to trust God. Through prayer, He brought justice and peace. He never forgot me.”

This is the Kingdom breaking in —

where the oppressed are lifted,

where hidden injustice is exposed,

where God’s justice becomes visible,

and where His children discover that He truly is the God who sees.
