I arrived in Melbourne in 1976 to study at Monash Uni. I met a guy who invited me to Waverley Mission (former name of CityLife Church). At the end of that year I attended a Sunday evening service where a Youth with a Mission (YWAM) preacher spoke about the Lordship of Christ and I received Jesus as my Lord, Saviour and friend. I also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit – speaking in another language. I began a brand new life, a brand new adventure, a brand new hope and purpose in God. Praise God for His goodness and faithfulness and for His people. Through this church I met a community who reached out with genuine love to overseas students. Later they reached out to my parents. Pastor Richard and another sister in Christ led my Mum to Christ. Pastor Richard prayed for my Dad who had pain in his leg and God healed him! My Dad was so touched by the love of God - I led him to Christ before he went to heaven a few years later.
