One of our CityLife Community Care clients is feeling great relief after meeting with our Financial COACH and Energy Mentor recently. They had been feeling very overwhelmed with one of their utility bills which had gotten out of hand. Their payment plan had expired, and they were struggling to see a way to get ahead. This situation had been impacting on their sleep and well-being.
Together with their mentor, they reviewed the account, called the energy provider and discussed options. Through the supported negotiations, they were able to move to a better plan and updated payment arrangement. They were also able to apply for a Utility Relief Grant, which was promptly approved to relieve some of the financial pressure. Through our ongoing support and reassurance, they know that although there are cost of living pressures, they will find understanding and options along the way.
