After a stormy day, I was taking a walk in my
neighbourhood and stumbled upon a neighbour in my street whom I've never met
before in my 8 years of living here. In 45 minutes, I heard that she has been
widowed for 8 years, living with osteoporosis and having conflicting
relationship with her mentally challenged adult daughter. I noticed that her
garden was unkempt and overgrown and suggested whether it would be ok to get
some friends from church (Life Group) to come and help her garden over a
weekend. She agreed and the men in our Life Group all pitched in and worked
hard in the garden.
The change was incredible, she was so thankful and since
then we were able to help her in various other means; grocery shopping,
companionship, phone technical challenges and she herself has personally
visited our Life Group a few times. She told me that she has been sharing her
testimony of how God had answered her prayers on that stormy day and gained a
family of brothers and sisters in Christ in return.
