We have been thinking about reaching out to our neighbours
and decided to put an invite in their letterbox for an afternoon tea to
celebrate the new year. We didn’t get any responses and so thought there wasn’t
any interest. But we bumped into them and invited them again. In the end, all
the invited 4 families came. We opened up the garage, bought some snacks,
instant coffee and tea; and set up some camping chairs. It didn’t take much
effort and we had a great time listening to their stories! The kids got along
splendidly, the adults had great conversations and stayed for over 3 hours.
Really happy to be able to take this first step to build some relationships and
praying for opportunities to invite them to church some day!
