Before I became a follower of Jesus I thought I was
invisible and unimportant. I thought that everyone else was normal and
that there was something wrong with me due to childhood trauma. Even
though I went through life with a smile I thought this world was a sad and
lonely place.
My journey with Jesus began while I was a rebellious teenager.
I heard about a church where you can wear jeans and runners; I went and was
overwhelmed by a feeling of acceptance and a sense of belonging. That night I
ran into His arms. After this encounter with Jesus I received healing;
continuous healing from the healer of our souls. He showed me that He is
bigger than my sorrow. He gave me back my life, and showed me how to use
it to help others. Today I am a social worker.
“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 147:3
