Pursuing the life of a Multiplier

Bible Study: Pursuing the Life of a Multiplier

 Duration:

30 Minutes | Focus: Leading from health to create lasting kingdom impact.

 1. Welcome & Hook (3 Minutes)

  • Leader Read: "A Multiplier is a healthy disciple-making leader who reproduces who they are and what they do. But a depleted leader cannot multiply. To change the world, we must first allow the Holy Spirit to change us from the inside out."
  • Opening Question: Think of a time you tried to serve or lead while completely exhausted. What was the result?

 2. Scripture Reading (5 Minutes)

  • Volunteer 1 Read Luke 2:52: "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."
  • Volunteer 2 Read John 15:4–5: "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

 3. Part 1: Checking the Four Internal Gauges (10 Minutes)

  • Leader Read: Jesus grew holistically: mentally (wisdom), physically (stature), spiritually (favour with God), and relationally (favour with man). To be a healthy Multiplier, we must watch these same four gauges.
    • Spiritual: Abiding in Christ so we don't lead from emptiness.
    • Mental: Staying grounded in truth rather than running on a cluttered, reactive mind.
    • Physical: Stewarding our bodies and rest. "Fatigue makes cowards of us all."
    • Relational: Staying connected to life-giving, transparent friendships instead of isolating.

  • Discussion Questions:

1.             John 15 says apart from Christ we can do nothing. How does our modern culture's definition of "success" or "hustle" trick us into ignoring our internal health?

2.             Looking at these four gauges (Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Relational), which one currently feels the most depleted in your life, and why?

 4. Part 2: Activating the Four External Practices (10 Minutes)

  • Leader Read: When our internal gauges are healthy, we naturally overflow into the four practices of a Multiplier:
    1. Making Disciple-Makers: Helping everyday people become like Jesus.
    2. Establishing Spiritual Communities: Creating small spiritual families where people are known.
    3. Mobilizing New Leaders: Investing deeply in a few who will lead others.
    4. Launching Church Expressions: Sending people out to start new missional spaces.
  • Discussion Questions:
    1. If you successfully multiply everything you currently are—your habits, anxiety levels, prayer life, and attitude—into someone else right now, what kind of disciple would they be?
    2. Who is one person in your immediate circle of influence that you can intentionally begin to invest in, develop, or walk alongside this week?

5. Wrap-Up & Prayer (2 Minutes)

  • Challenge: Pick one internal gauge to protect this week and one person to intentionally encourage.
  • Closing Prayer: Pray for the group to lead out of holy overflow rather than human exhaustion, asking God to multiply our healthy rhythms for His kingdom.
