A young mum, feeling extremely distressed, reached out to CityLife Community Care for help. She was a young Christian, fervent in her faith and eager to follow God’s ways. We’ll call her Cindy. Cindy was connected with a COACH mentor and was referred to see a counsellor for marriage support. Her husband agreed to attend counselling with her. Within a short period of time, things began to improve. Cindy’s deepest desire was for her husband to come to know the Lord. She often invites him to church, but he would always decline. During one of their counselling sessions, they were encouraged to spend quality time together. One day, during an argument, Cindy mentioned how they weren’t spending any quality time together. Cindy had just started attending Alpha at the time and she told him that he should attend Alpha with her so that they could spend some quality time together. Surprisingly, he agreed. It wasn’t the usual way couples spend quality time, but God truly works in mysterious ways! At Alpha, Cindy’s husband began asking many questions and became increasingly curious. Later, he agreed to attend the CityLife Mandarin Church, where he met some wonderful people who became close friends. Her husband is now much more supportive, their marriage has been restored, and he is far more engaged as a father. They are spending more time together and enjoying life as a family. Last Sunday, Cindy’s husband gave his life to Jesus! Below is the email from Cindy: "Thanks for the COACH program. It has had a profound impact in my life. I also recommended it to another lady in need. We really feel the presence of God in the whole process. My husband already did the decision prayer last Sunday. Praise GOD! I know everything is in his hand. Thank you so much!"
