World Impact – Ethiopia: Girma Asfaw gave his life to Jesus as a teenager. In 2015, while searching for work in Addis Ababa, he noticed the CityLife Church sign board and was drawn in by the sound of worship. He began attending the Burayu Campus and later moved to serve full-time as a security guard at the Lancha Campus. Though Girma had attended several churches in the past, he had never been discipled. At Lancha, he found sound teaching, personal mentorship, and a loving community that didn’t judge him for his job but valued him as a person. It was there that his ministry journey began to take shape. Girma walked through deep personal struggles, including three suicide attempts driven by hopelessness. But God intervened, and his life was radically transformed. Today, Girma is a full-time minister at the Lancha Campus. He is married and is a proud father of a six-year-old son. His journey from daily labourer to a minister is a powerful testimony of God’s redeeming grace and the transforming power of a loving church family.
